Alabama virtual pesticide training creates workforce value

Due to the inability to host face-to-face programming for much of 2020 due to COVID-19restrictions, Alabama Cooperative Extension Service through Auburn University conducted Commercial Pesticide Applicator Virtual Trainings for all Alabama Commercial Applicator Permit Holders.Topics included:

•Aquatic, wood-destroying organisms

•Forestry

•Household pests

•Ornamental plants and turf

•Ag plants and animals

•Aerialseed treatment

•Fumigation and

•golf course maintenance

Ten four-hour training sessionseachconstituted 9,030 continuing education units (CEUs) issued to 903 attendees. Each event was worth 10 CEUs. The total valued was $270,900 dollars in workforce training.
